In 2023 I left my 9-5 at a mid-tier accountancy firm in the South West to start my own business in outsourcing.

In my 11+ years working for different accountancy firms, my biggest challenge was working with consistently poor accounting records from clients and their businesses. We’d spend hours doing work outside of our remit that the firm couldn’t recover on commercially, and the clients would have to pay the heavy price for it.

The firm stopped offering the service, but the clients still needed it, and the firm needed it to be done properly. I spotted an opportunity and founded SWBK.

What started as a service offering bookkeeping and related accountancy support has become an all-in-one outsourcing solution to a client base of numerous £multimillion businesses and their stakeholders. My plan is to make SWBK the # 1 solution for outsourcing services for mid-tier accountancy firms across the South West.

This is for SME (and sub audit threshold) businesses that are big enough to need financial support on the inside but don’t need to employ somebody on a full time basis to do it.

It’s also for accountants who’d prefer to work with accurate financial data prepared by a trusted and qualified source – and don’t offer the service in-house.

Business owners now have greater than ever visibility over their financial performance. I don’t need to get into it but the benefits are endless…
